Committed to giving his patients the best possible care combining both art and science for a result that is naturally beautiful, Dr. Maas offers a variety of procedures through two distinct practices: The Maas ClinicTM, founded in 2002, and the Appearance Care CenterTM, a state-of-the-art medical spa facility, offering a wide variety of minimally invasive treatments and services.
For the last two and a half decades, Dr. Maas has dedicated himself to helping advance the field of facial plastic surgery with groundbreaking clinical research, receiving countless honors and awards for his endeavors, including the prestigious Sir Harold Delf Gilles Award from the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He has published more than 100 book chapters, articles and is regularly recruited to lecture to medical societies, both nationally and internationally. Dr. Maas is also responsible for the specialty education of facial plastic surgery to residents and medical students.
Dr. Carolyn Chang

Dr. Carolyn Chang is a board-certified plastic surgeon practicing in San Francisco. She is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Chang is the immediate past Vice-Chairman for the Department of Plastic Surgery at California Pacific Medical Center.
Dr. Chang graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science degree with honors from Stanford University and received her medical degree from Stanford University Medical School, where she was the recipient of the Dean’s Award for Excellence in Clinical Medicine. She continued at Stanford University Medical Center for her residency training, and then completed an additional advanced surgical fellowship at New York University, and a second year of further specialization in the field of cosmetic surgery under the guidance of Dr. John Q. Owsley, one of the pioneers of the modern facelift. She has the honor of being the first woman to be chosen for this prestigious fellowship.
As one of the San Francisco Bay Area’s premier plastic surgeons, she has been included annually for over 15 years in numerous Best Doctors’ lists, including Castle Connolly’s America’s Top Doctors, Newsweek Magazine, Best Doctors in America, and San Francisco Magazine’s and Marin Magazine’s Top Doctors lists. Harper’s Bazaar Magazine has listed her in their Hot List of the 24 Best Beauty Surgeons, and W Magazine named her one of America’s Top Doctors for Revisional Plastic Surgery. Readers of SFGate and The Nob Hill Gazette have also named Dr. Chang as San Francisco’s Best Plastic Surgeon.
Dr. Chang specializes in cosmetic surgery. Her particular areas of expertise include the natural dual plane facelift and preventative facial surgery for the younger patient. She also specializes in breast surgery and body contouring by virtue of extensive expertise acquired during the first 10 years of her career in a prominent all women’s breast and body plastic surgery practice in San Francisco. Natural tasteful results, patient safety, and customized care are the hallmarks of Dr. Chang’s surgical practice.
Dr. Chang’s prominence and reputation has drawn attention from numerous media outlets, such as CNN, The Doctors, and National Geographic, beauty editors, skin care companies, and professional associations who call upon her for her knowledge and expertise in plastic surgery. Dr. Chang serves as Scientific Adviser and co-developer of skin care products for Juice Beauty, a national skin care company known for having the highest organic standards in the industry. Dr. Chang has been an invited lecturer both locally and nationally on a wide range of topics in the field of aesthetic surgery. She is published in the professional and lay literature related to these topics, has been an instructor for plastic surgery courses at national meetings, and currently participates in resident and medical student teaching.
Dr. Chang is a long-time resident of the Bay Area and is committed to the betterment of her community. She is active philanthropically and is a committed patron of the arts. She is a sustainer member of the San Francisco Ballet Auxiliary Board, a member and past Vice President of the California Pacific Medical Center Foundation Board and has been on advisory committees for the development of California Pacific Medical Center’s Comprehensive Cancer Center and the African American Breast Health Program, a service for underserved women in need of breast cancer treatments. Dr. Chang was awarded the Women of Excellence Award from the Ivy AKAdemy Foundation of San Francisco for her work with breast cancer patients.
Dr. Chang lives in San Francisco, with her husband Patrick and their children, James and Jemma. She is an avid world traveler and loves sampling the best restaurants that the San Francisco Bay Area has to offer.
Dr. Shahin Javaheri

Dr. Shahin Javaheri, is a second-generation surgeon whose father was an accomplished aesthetic surgeon in Southern California. He is double Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology (ENT).
His education includes graduating from the Medical College of Pennsylvania, surgical residency from University of California Davis, Otolaryngology residency from the University of California Irvine, and residency in Plastic and Reconstructive surgery from University of South Florida. Dr Javaheri’s specialty is reconstructive and plastic surgery of the breast and body.

Dr. James Romano is a highly respected and sought after board-certified plastic surgeon in the San Francisco Bay area. Dr. Romano is known for his artistry in plastic surgery whose story is best told through before and after images. Achieving beautiful contours and natural results.
Dr. James Romano has extensive training and much more than the typical plastic surgeon. Including five years of general surgery residency at New York University and Georgetown University followed by three years of plastic residency at The Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Dr. Stuart Seiff

Dr. Seiff is board certified in ophthalmology and a fellow of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Seiff was the Director of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at UCSF and Chief of Ophthalmology at San Francisco General Hospital for over 20 years. He is now Emeritus Professor of Ophthalmology at UCSF.
He continues to serve as a consultant in oculofacial and aesthetic plastic surgery at UCSF, SFGH, California Pacific Medical Center and Mills Peninsula Medical Center. He is the founding director of the Pacific Center for Oculofacial and Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. Dr. Seiff is a popular lecturer nationally and internationally in the areas of orbital and oculofacial and aesthetic plastic surgery. He has a particular interest in the management of thyroid eye disease. He has published several hundred scientific papers, books, and chapters in these areas and serves on the editorial board for the journal, Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, as well as being a reviewer for many other journals.

Dr. Nielsen is an Anesthesiologist that has been specializing in taking care of plastic surgery patient’s needs for over 10 years. In 2009, he became the Medical Director of the San Francisco Rejuvenation CenterTM.
He trained at the University of Southern California and is a Board Certified Anesthesiologist. After residency he moved to Northern California and has made it his home. He has taken a special interest in volunteering his time for cleft lip and palate trips in third world countries. In his free time he loves to travel, kite surf and mountain bike.

Dr. Neetu Ahluwalia, “Dr. A,” is a board-certified anesthesiologist and private practice physician. Dr. A specializes in Integrative Medicine that includes pain management, health, and wellness. He has more than 15 years of experience evaluating and providing comprehensive solutions for his patients.
